Human-centred AI consulting

AI consulting that begins with your people, not the tools.

Hosts & Heritage is a human-centred AI strategy and implementation consultancy founded by Michelle Storm. We help family-run, founder-led and purpose-led organisations build a future-proof existence — without losing the knowledge, values, identity, relationships and personal character that make them worth remembering.

What "human-centred" really means

Most AI consulting starts with a tool and asks what problems it can be pointed at. We work the other way around. We start with the organisation: the people it serves, the knowledge it holds, the pressures it faces and the qualities that must be protected. Only then do we ask where AI genuinely helps.

The result is a slower, more careful conversation up front — and a faster, calmer adoption afterwards, because nothing is introduced that your team does not understand or trust. Human-centred AI is not a slogan for us. It is an order of operations: people first, then knowledge, then process, then tools.

What we believe about AI in human-centred organisations

  • Your people come first. Every tool we choose has to make their day a little warmer — never colder.
  • Your craft is carefully protected. The recipe, the tone of your welcome, the details only you would notice. Nothing we build is allowed to blur them.
  • Nothing loud, nothing complicated. No jargon. No dashboards you'll never open. Just small, dependable things that quietly do their job.
  • Judgement stays human. AI can draft, sort, summarise and suggest. Decisions that shape relationships or reputation stay with the people who own them.

Who this is for

We work with organisations where trust, knowledge and human experience are central to the quality of the work. That includes:

  • Family-run and founder-led businesses
  • Independent hospitality — hotels, restaurants, cafés, bakeries
  • Wedding and event professionals — planners, florists, stylists, photographers
  • Creative studios and experience-led businesses
  • Cultural, heritage and educational organisations
  • Non-profits, community initiatives and public-sector teams protecting something precious

What we help you decide

  • What AI should improve
  • What should remain distinctly human
  • Where knowledge is at risk of being lost
  • Which tools are worth the effort — and which are not
  • How to introduce AI in a way your team can actually sustain
  • How to keep guests, clients, members or the public feeling personally cared for

How we work — the Heritage Framework

Every engagement uses our four-stage process: Discover, Strategize, Implement, Optimize. We listen first, then map opportunities, then implement alongside the people who will use the tools, then stay close to refine and embed them. The pace is set by your team, not by a delivery schedule.

What people ask us most

Will AI make my business feel impersonal?

Only if you let it. Used carelessly, AI flattens tone and personality. Used with care, it protects them — by handing off the repetitive work that was eroding your capacity to be personal in the first place. We design for the second outcome.

My team is nervous about AI. Is that a problem?

It is a signal, not a problem. Teams that feel uncertain about AI usually have good instincts about what should not change. We start with a shared conversation and practical training so people feel calm, capable and part of the decision.

We are small. Is consulting worth it?

Small teams are often where consulting has the highest return, because a few hours a week back in the owner's calendar is a meaningful shift. We size the engagement to fit — sometimes a report is enough; sometimes a workshop; sometimes a full sprint.
